A Tale Of Two Four Seasons

Updated: Nov 30, 2020

Double-checking information to ensure its factuality is crucial — just ask President Trump’s team. A ballroom inside of the Four Seasons Hotel is a venue one would expect for a press conference led by President Trump. However, due to an unfortunate misunderstanding, the event was instead held at a less luxurious venue: the back parking lot of Four Seasons Total Landscaping.

Buzzfeed News states:

“Four Seasons Total Landscaping, the Philadelphia business smack dab between a crematorium and a sex shop, is in many ways the heart and soul of America.”

A mix-up of this sort (one an everyday individual may understandably make and not the president’s team), is comical enough. For everyone other than President Trump and those responsible for the misunderstanding, the story gets even better.

President Trump tweeted,

“Big press conference today in Philadelphia at Four Seasons Total Landscaping — 11:30am!”

Not only did the location mentioned by the president humor Americans nationwide, but sources revealed that the conference also happened to be positioned next to an adult store. On top of everything, reporters began to pack up their belongings at the start of the speech given by Rudy Giuliani, president Trump’s personal lawyer, regarding voter fraud taking place as MSNBC and CNN announced Joe Biden as the next president of the United States.

This event has taken social media platforms by storm — especially Twitter. Not only are individuals curious as to how Four Seasons Total Landscaping plans to go about their sudden rise to fame, but Twitter users are having a blast doing what they do best: memeing. Check out some of my favorite tweets:

As for Four Seasons Total Landscaping’s take on crisis management, the establishment has made a line of merchandise that is currently sold out on their website. Shirts ($25) and stickers ($5) can be found with the phrases “Make America Rake Again” and “Lawn and Order” plastered across them. I can say with certainty that I will be purchasing the entire line of merchandise as soon as they restock — mark my words.

The way Four Seasons Total Landscaping performed crisis management was exponentially different from the approach President Trump and his team took. Rudy Giuliani and Trump campaign advisor Corey Lewandowski claim no mistake was made, having allegedly informed President Trump that the conference was scheduled to be held at the Four Seasons Total Landscaping. The location was misinterpreted on his end, with the President having heard ‘Four Seasons’ and immediately associating it with the hotel.

The New York Times reports,

“The campaign had always intended to hold the news conference in a friendlier part of town.”

When the White House and presidential staff were asked why the Four Seasons Total Landscaping’s parking lot was identified as the ideal press conference venue, they issued no comments. Whether they admit a mistake was made or not, America continues to humor itself.

Four Seasons Total Landscaping, however, is not the only business using this hilarious event that will go down in history to their advantage. The virtual reality platform VRChat has developed a scene mimicking the structure of the failed press conference. Coopertom, a video game streamer, posted a video of furries (a subculture of individuals who dress up as animals while maintaining human-like characteristics) joyously interacting with the scene on VRChat to his YouTube channel. Never in a million years did I think efforts spearheaded by the Trump administration would involve furries creating such a beautiful product.
